Founded in 1993 with just one care home, Barchester Healthcare now employs over 17,000 people to care for 10,000 residents and patients at over 200 purpose-built care homes across the UK and seven independent hospitals in England.
Our care homes specialise in elderly care and our independent hospitals specialise in mental health. We continue to grow steadily with new developments planned into the future.
Consistently remaining at the forefront of private healthcare in the UK, we have a solid reputation gained not only for providing award-winning care and services to thousands of residents and patients throughout the UK, but also for investment in our employees.
We are proud of all our people and applaud their hard work and dedication to the people in their care. Lucerne House in Exeter became the first Barchester care home to receive an OUTSTANDING rating from the CQC in February 2017.
Our culture and values
From the beginning, our principles have remained the same; to provide quality environments that nurture our residents, patients and their families, and to provide workplaces that reward and inspire our employees.
We are focused on providing prospective and existing employees with equal opportunities and display the Disability Confident logo with pride.
Opportunity for career development is guaranteed with Barchester - we offer clear career pathways leading to nationally recognised qualifications to enable sustained professional development – whatever your role.
Our award-winning care is down to one thing - the professionalism and dedication of our staff. We believe that excellence should come as standard and this is reflected in the recruitment, training and career progression of all our people.
We hire people with passion, train them well and help them develop their career.
In return we offer a competitive salary and impressive benefits; not least an outstanding profit share scheme, unrivalled in this sector, designed to recognise the excellent performance of our teams across the business.
